The surroundings of Mooi Gula Huset

Our B&B is conveniently located in the south-west of Småland, about a 2-hour drive from Malmö. If you are in transit (via the E6 towards Gothenburg or the E4 towards Stockholm), we can offer you a comfortable resting place. Also for a longer stay, the area offers a variety of nature or peace, and also activities, beaches and beautiful old towns.

Walking, cycling, swimming, canoeing….

In the immediate vicinity of Mooi Gula Huset you can enjoy nice walks and within walking distance there is a small lake with a bathing jetty. Looking for a larger lake? Lake Bolmen, with 180 km² one of the larger lakes in Sweden (and the largest in Småland), is 15 km away and is without a doubt a special destination. There is plenty to do here, from swimming, pedal boating, sailing or kayaking, fishing and walking to taking the ferry to the island of Bolmsö. And for those who like cycling or mountain biking there are various routes, short and long, along the lakes in the area:

City and beach

In addition to the lakes and forests in the immediate vicinity of Mooi Gula Huset, there is also the sea, nice beaches and old towns. For example Båstad or Halmstad, cozy old towns with nice well-known and unknown shops and cozy cafes. The road there is already very worthwhile. Halmstad is located on the coast, so lovers of sand, beach and sea can also go there. The city itself has several beaches and about 10 km below Halmstad lies the beautiful Mellbystrand. And about 20 km further south Båstad is also located on the coast.

Sagobygden: the land of legends and fairy tales

Lidhult is located in the western part of Sagobygden, the land of legends and fairy tales. An area that extends eastwards to Alvesta and Älmhult and where dozens of fairy tales and legends can be found. A visit to one of the many places is definitely worth it. Just take a look at the Sagobygden website: sagobygden.se.

And don’t forget to visit the Sagomuseet in Ljungby (read the blog about the Sagomuseet here). Here you will find everything about “the land of legends and fairy tales”. Fun for young and old!!!!

for children there are several nice parks nearby
  • Alpaca farm in Kråkhult (15 minutes drive)
  • Minivärlden in Ljungby, in this small museum they rebuild old railway routes (the Gula Huset can also be admired to scale in this museum)

and the 3 moose parks in the vicinity of Ljungby:

Finally, for a good meal you can go to e.g.
  • Adi Restaurang & Pizzeria (in Lidhult), 5 minutes walk
  • Steakhouse in Skeen, towards Ljungby, 15 minutes drive from Lidhult and very child friendly
  • Tiraholms Fisk towards Unnaryd, 25 minutes drive from Lidhult
  • Bolmen Fisk, along the E4 near Ljungby, 30 minutes drive from Lidhult

This is just a small selection of what there is to experience in and around Lidhult. And of course you can also go on a discovery tour yourself and investigate what else there is to see in and around Lidhult.
